Who is KSSH?
Lead by head trainer, Kayla Short, KSSH is quickly gaining traction in all-around competitive events as well as the emerging discipline of Western Dressage.
For Kayla, horses have always been a source of strength and connection. Beginning her equine journey as a youth, she realized her immediate talent early in life. Through losses and the heartbreak many of us experience with horses, her resilience was unwavering.
Kayla attended the University of Florida College of Animal Science, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in the Equine Industry.
Her education opened an opportunity for her to work at a Ranch in Montana. While out west, she came to understand how important the well-being of these incredible creatures was to her. Upon returning home, she found her base at Rymar Ranch- the stable of her initial horse experience and training where Kayla chose to begin her career as a Professional Horse Trainer and Instructor. She always strives put the horse first, never placing blame on the animal. She believes it is the responsibility of the human to communicate with the horse kindly and clearly with balance and softness, fairness in every request.
ARIA certified, Kayla has experience teaching all levels of riders in many disciplines including but not limited to Western Riding, Horsemanship, Trail, Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Equitation, Versatility, Driving, and Western Dressage.
